if you haven't been following the news. amidst the tragedy that was once bombay, the poor tortured teen discovered at the local gym in shackles and the political cabinet as it unfolds, there is a story byline that deserves recognition because it's that ridiculous.
it unfolds like this (each number representing a day's time as the new story breaks):
- plaxico burress shot in night club in nyc
- plaxico burress shooting accidental, more to come...
- plaxico burress shot himself in NYC night club.
- Plaxico Burress suspended
(as background plaxico used to be a steeler - and carried the nickname plexiglass for dodging hits unlike teammate ward who takes abuse like a champ. he's found a good home at the giants and has excelled.)
back to the story - better yet is the debate surrounding how to charge a man for shooting himself in the ass, i mean leg. oh wait, the ass shooting was joey porter in denver- i forgot (sad story). i think carrying a concealed and loaded weapon comes to mind. but there is glorious potential for assault here. plaxico burress, star wide-receiver charged with unintentional assault - on himself. i wonder if he'll testify against himself in court. oh wait - the constitution might get in the way of that potential media frenzy.
what i really want to know is: how exactly did the gun go off ? did busting a move lead to a cap in the ass, i mean thigh? was it in his pocket - mistaken for his wallet when he went to tip the waitress / bartender? who carries a loaded gun around in their pocket anyway? i mean imagine the angle that it would have to be at to shoot oneself in the upper thigh... perhaps it was strapped around his chest - aimed DOWN. maybe he was grinding with his lady and that alone set it off. maybe his mom taught him well - kinda like carrying the scissors down when you walk so you don't poke anyone's eye out. maybe he was exercising caution and we're just not giving him enough credit. nice work mom!
regardless it will be interesting to watch it all go down as the story continues to unfold. stay tuned people! and in the mean time, leave the firearms at home when you hit the clubs ok?
