muggers hail cops

Here is a story in bullet

  • 2 men mug sweet little old lady - beating and all
  • man takes lady's wallet
  • men run outside and hail a cop car
  • upon questioning for identification, man pulls out said mugged lady's wallet as ID.
oops.
this really happened. atleast she is OK.
brilliant.

pain in the thigh

if you haven't been following the news. amidst the tragedy that was once bombay, the poor tortured teen discovered at the local gym in shackles and the political cabinet as it unfolds, there is a story byline that deserves recognition because it's that ridiculous.

it unfolds like this (each number representing a day's time as the new story breaks):

  1. plaxico burress shot in night club in nyc
  2. plaxico burress shooting accidental, more to come...
  3. plaxico burress shot himself in NYC night club.
  4. Plaxico Burress suspended
aside from the fact that he was dumb enough to be caught strapped in a club - the dude shot himself! oops.

(as background plaxico used to be a steeler - and carried the nickname plexiglass for dodging hits unlike teammate ward who takes abuse like a champ. he's found a good home at the giants and has excelled.)

back to the story - better yet is the debate surrounding how to charge a man for shooting himself in the ass, i mean leg. oh wait, the ass shooting was joey porter in denver- i forgot (sad story). i think carrying a concealed and loaded weapon comes to mind. but there is glorious potential for assault here. plaxico burress, star wide-receiver charged with unintentional assault - on himself. i wonder if he'll testify against himself in court. oh wait - the constitution might get in the way of that potential media frenzy.

what i really want to know is: how exactly did the gun go off ? did busting a move lead to a cap in the ass, i mean thigh? was it in his pocket - mistaken for his wallet when he went to tip the waitress / bartender? who carries a loaded gun around in their pocket anyway? i mean imagine the angle that it would have to be at to shoot oneself in the upper thigh... perhaps it was strapped around his chest - aimed DOWN. maybe he was grinding with his lady and that alone set it off. maybe his mom taught him well - kinda like carrying the scissors down when you walk so you don't poke anyone's eye out. maybe he was exercising caution and we're just not giving him enough credit. nice work mom!

regardless it will be interesting to watch it all go down as the story continues to unfold. stay tuned people! and in the mean time, leave the firearms at home when you hit the clubs ok?

beautiful

i'm back to my winter-time hibernation workout schedule.
this involves retreating indoors -- off of the bike - and to the gym. every year i have goals...this winter i have a totally new one - which is increased flexibility. i've been reading and reading about how it's virtually impossible to harness your true strength without being flexible. and i've always wished i could do a split, so i decided to dive in to a stretching routine on top of lifting and forced cardio. something to work towards always provides inspiration.

there are many, many familiar faces at the gym - and some new ones.
the same old guys to dodge (including banana peels who, in case you hadn't read about him, he still has a very special and not to be forgotten place in my dating history).

there are a few tho that i see regularly that i can definitely respect (perhaps, given previous experiences, this is because we haven't yet exchanged words). i think it's training all those years in the pool that made me appreciate to the fullest that perfect v shaped back, and associated vein lined forearms that only built traps, delts, lats and so on can build.

yes when you are trapped on a stationary machine for 30-50 minutes at a time the mind does tend to wander. it's all in good fun tho...

the illusive pickle plant

this weekend, a few lengthy rides brought up topics of great significance came up instilling in my mind a few, mind taxing questions; as follows:

  1. i wanted to make guacamole. when discussing it with my good friend of many many years, she noted that i was lacking guacamoles to make the guacamole dip. there were no guacamoles to be found in order to make said goodness!

no guacamoles? whatever will we do? and how do those puppies grow? on a guacamole tree?
    perhaps.

  2. Apparently there is a family tradition to make hamburgers from ground turkey meat. How does this work i wondered? Whatever the process is, it must be biological.

  3. There are some people who actually grow pickles on plants. A pickle plant! wherever does one acquire such a herbaceous species?

  4. There are some people, who eat lunch for dinner - this was actually discovered in weeks past however it seemed appropriate to bring it up here.

  5. Swedish fish are an appropriate course to eat for dinner. after all - fish is the healthiest of all proteins.
in short, if anyone knows where i can find a farm, that has a good stock of burkeys or curkeys (you know the animals that are part turkey, part cow), and has an ample supply of pickle plants and guacamole trees, AND also is on a dinner lunch switch schedule, can you hook a sister up?

thanx.

rollin' in style

my bikes of course r now rollin in style (instead of piled up in the back seat).. check out the new rack installed, in entirety, by yours truly. now if only i had time to clean up the ride itself. she's pretty though, even when she's dirty.

wren's health

from fark.com... nice work on this entry!!!

don't drink and drive

how does one mistake an enormous flight of steps (normally packed with people) for a road??? man drives down spanish steps.

bite me

it says that on my hydration pack so i figured it was appropriate. something bit me on sunday in rothrock; it left a lovely red, golf ball sized mark which was quite painful last night - especially as it was brushed by multi-flora rose thorns out in scotia. it seems better today and has gone down to quarter size, but... damn!

what the heck could it be from?!!

pimpalicious

so randomly i was looking up mack daddy after a convo with snacky the other day... and randomly i decided to check out my name because someone suggested i do so...

To describe something of such superb standards it almost cannot be described by any word or sentence or onomatopoeia in the English language.

Oh man, look at that Leah!
She soooo sexy!!!!

if u don't believe it - look it up yourself.
!!!!!!!!!!

because i'm a 3d geek

ok - for all of you who wanted to see this mother project that i spent most of the spring working on ... here it is:

Click here to view the entire project - you can also see compressed animations The animations are super short - but they take literally days to render.. so the process of refining them is SLOW. this is AFTER you deal with compiling all of the data, mosaicing imagery, etc. this is what i want to do when i grow up - i just need to figure out how to make that happen. :) Here is another page that i made to kinda explain the process. You can see some of my other models here too.

great typography for riding.

today is profound online quotes day. this comes from a review of patapsco state park in md...

The best all-around trail riding in the area. Something for all skill levels and opportunities to grow skills. The scenery is beautiful; typography makes for an excellent workout. Lots of fun ... can be intense or relaxing, which ever you choose.

little did i know that i was getting a daily workout laying out brochures and maps! sweet.
